I really needed to read something uplifting and this Anthology certainly surpassed my needs. I am really not a pet lover (due to personal health issues) but these stories all centered around dogs and I truly enjoyed reading each one! I fully intend to look into all of the books connected to the books comprising the Anthology.
This was a delightful book of sweet stories about various people and a dog who had a power to bring lovers together. Each story had a lovely ending and it just lifted me up. I recommend this book.
I absolutely loved how the various authors came together to write a collection of stories that were unique but were cohesive and set a beautiful scene about a town that I wish I could visit. Through the vignettes, true love is matched throughout the generations by a dog named Match. Each iteration of Match has one task and that is to bring two people together... high school sweethearts? Strangers? A married couple who is having problems? Come visit Dogwood and see if you’ll fall in love!
This was a simply wonderful combination of authors doing what they do best, writing well written, fast paced books that engage with most all of us. I enjoyed them immensely! Keep up with the good work.
My love of animals drew me to this title, but the stories themselves exceed expectations! These are short romantic stories that definitely have dogs/puppies with plenty of character. I’m going to be reading more of the Dogwood stories by these authors. I thoroughly recommend this.

For the love of dogs! This book is a prequel to the Dogwood series. You will enjoy these wonderful stories that will make you love dogs. Two of these stories are; Gone to the Dogs by Jodi Anderson Laura got a letter from her aunt Marie asking her to come and live with her. Laura didn't have much money to come. Marie arranged with her brother, Doug , for Laura to become a relief driver. She was to help his son Don drive a school bus to Utah. At the first stop, they found two puppies. They took the puppies to a shelter, but they had no room. They took the dogs with them after they called her Aunt and she told them to bring them on. The shelter in her town would make room and find Skipper and Buddy new homes. At the gas station, they found another stray dog. Laura had an idea. Would the shelter in Dogwood take more dogs? Could they pick up even more dogs along the way. She called her Aunt and waited for an answer. What would it be? Would they get to bring back animals to Dogwood? Rescue Nora by Jude Willhoff Nora was driving in a white out of snow headed for her daughter. She was going to give birth to Nora's first Grandbaby. Nora ran into a snow bank and could not move the car. She was very cold and felt a thump on the car door. She got out and found it to be a very cold dog. They huddled together and stayed warm. Nora hoped that her estranged husband, Samuel, would come find her and Jack. Will she get there in time for her grandbaby birth?

Heartwarming collection of stories! A good range of characters finding, and re-finding, love. The dogs certainly help the process, though Match is inexplicably missing from the last story. I thoroughly enjoyed reading these stories and they rare a good intro to the series.

Dogs, what's not to love? A group of stories about longing, love and dogs. Especially a matchmaking dog aptly named Match! Well worth reading if you enjoy romance and dogs...
Definitely earned my 5 stars! I'm in awe of how every one of the authors stayed true to the heart of the Dogwood series. I was ready to protest any story that didn't do justice to the series. Absolutely loved every story and I thank and commend the authors for sharing their talent.
Fairly entertaining! I enjoyed the stories in this book, some more than others. My favorites were Gone to the Dogs, and The Cowboy and the Librarian. The others were okay, but I just didn't find the main characters resonating as much with me. A Match in Disguise was also pretty good.

Great quick reads Each story was extremely well written, heartwarming, and with what I call a Hallmark ending. Great for filling in small spaces of time or for binge reading the entire book.

Sit Stay Read ENJOY Multiple stories with a common theme. Very enjoyable. I am looking forward to future books from all of these authors
Sweet Nice and sweet short stories. Love the premise of a matchmaking dog. Since they are prequels not a lot angst.
A short, "Feel Good" read The stories were ‘cute’ but short. Pretty predictable with no in depth storyline. Good for when you are short on time & want a ‘feel good’ read.
Light fun read What fun to enjoy short honest stories. Great job ladies. I wan to move to Dogwood with you. And where is Match?

What a lovely town Dogwood is for lovers. Dog lovers, with Sanctuary a no-kill animal shelter, that even brings in strays from as far away as Tenn. and helps people find their life-mates. People as well with a resident angel, a dog with a charming heart , inside and out. Match can be recognized by the heart-shaped patch on his or her fur. when one Match leaves another appears. and Match will identify your soul mate. Even when you don't believe it.
– Susan
Great quick read This book was a great quick read of 8 stories that were all very different but linked in some way. The stories leave you wanting more of the characters journeys. Will certainly be buying the set of books.
These stories tell a lot about the beginning of the Dogwood series An excellent collection of short stories telling the beginning of the Sanctuary (a no kill shelter that rescues dogs) and the beginning of the legend of Match the dogs with a heart marking and the ability to help soul-mates find each other. Read it first and then the rest of the books. They are best read in order as some characters appear in later books. However they also can be read in any order.

If you even barely like dogs you need to read this book. If you no longer believe in love and a connection between people that can last a lifetime you need to read this book. If you want something truly heartwarming you need to read this book. If none of the above apply you STILL need to read this book.
Sweet romance short stories that will send you aflutter!
Matches made by Match in Dogwood promises to be excellent judging by these short stories!
